E’ il frutto di un progetto di ricerca che coinvolge 40 e passa università e istituzioni di ricerca in tutto il mondo. Il I congresso si è svolto con successo in Portogallo nel gennaio 2008. Quanto a questo che avrà luogo in Italia fra un mese o poco più, fin da ora – senza troppa fatica di grancassa – abbiamo già 40 studiosi iscritti in rappresentanza di 10 nazioni.”

This conference follows the first one that was held in Madeira (Jan 2008), in which a first overlook on aspects, linguistic strategies, peculiar national and intercultural characters of humour was done.
This time we will deepen aspects of humour according to its codes, cultural traditions, images through artistic practices; most of all, approaches to humour will be deeper and wider thanks to multidisciplinarity Humour will also be contextualized in history, through a survey from Classical civilization to our times

you must provide a title for your proposal, a summary of up to 250 words. Abstracts should be submitted as MS Word file attachments. Paper presentation: papers should last 15 minutes, with up to 10 minutes for discussion. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to refuse any proposal deemed incomplete or unrelated to the theme.
The papers will be collected in a volume on the Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Cross-cultural Humour – “Images, Aspects, and Languages”
